FRANCAVILLA, Pietro (b. 1548, Cambrai, d. 1615, Paris) Winter 1590s Marble, over life-size Ponte Santa Trinit�, Florence Francavilla worked in the enormous studio of Giovanni Bologna. The studio lasted until well into the seventeenth century providing a potent source of inspiration for French and German sculpture of late 16th and early 17th centuries, as well as for Italian sculpture. The statue of Winter is one of the set representing the Seasons on the S.
